Before we go on to tell you how to minimize your pore size, let us first answer the question of many – ‘Why do I have such large pores?!’

#1 People with oily skin tend to have large pores

When you have oily skin, it tends to produce excess sebum.  This results in more oil and dirt collected in your skin, making the pore swell and looking larger than usual.

This does not mean that people with normal and dry skin will not have to deal with the problem of large pores. Though people with normal or dry skin tend to have smaller pores than those with combination or oily skin, they are still susceptible to open or large pore problems.

#2 Your pore size tends to increase with age

As you get older, you skin starts to lose its elasticity, which can cause your pores to look bigger. The effects of environmental aggressors such as sun damage, also typically accumulates with age. Simply put, the older you get, the more likely you’ve been exposed to the sun for longer hours, which causes your skin to thicken and pore size to increase.

#3 Genetic predisposition

You may have large pores due to your genetic predisposition. As with many other things – height, intelligence, body size, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that your pore size could well be attributed to your genetic predisposition. It simply means if one or both of your parents have large pores, it’s likely that you might have gotten it from them.

#4 Hormonal changes

Women may observe larger pores due to menstruation, pregnancy or menopause. Larger pores are usually more noticeable around their nose and cheeks, and this condition may come and go as hormonal levels fluctuate, but as women age, the difficulty of reducing the pore size increases.

Enough said about the problems.

Here’s bringing to you our recommended solutions:

#1 Exfoliation

Without exfoliating your skin, the dirt and dead skin cells are likely to accumulate and cause you to have larger pores. During puberty, pores often enlarge to handle the increased oil output from sebaceous glands. Most enlarged pores appear at nose, chin, and forehead (the T-zone area) so you might want to concentrate your exfoliation on these affected areas.

Porcelain’s Revive – Natural Skin Refiner can help with that…

The Revive – Natural Skin Refiner is a gentle and non-abrasive exfoliator that is suitable for all skin types. It gets rid of dull skin, improving skin radiance and texture. This is specially formulated with natural enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and stimulate cell renewal.

#2 Use a Pore Strip

Pore strips can come in quite handy in reducing your pore size. All you need to do is let it sit on your skin for around 10 to 15 minutes and peel it off once it dries up. Those who have tried it before might have observed tiny looking hairs stuck onto your strip. Here’s the good news – they are actually not hairs, they are the sebum and dead skin cells that were clogging your pores and contributing to the appearance of large and open pores. I’d highly recommend you to splash some cold water onto your face to close up the pores.

#3 Tone your skin

Using a toner is effective when it comes to minimizing your pores.  It may seem like a redundant step for many, but the functions of toners go far and wide, and one of which includes toning your skin, which helps to reduce your pore size.

Similarly from the Revive line, Porcelain’s Revive – Glycolic Toner contains AHAs and BHAs. Enriched with a unique blend of alpha-hydroxy acids and Vitamins C & E, it clarifies sluggish complexions and protects it against free radicals that cause signs of ageing. Infused with sea salt, witch-hazel, aloe vera and Sodium Hyaluronate, this toner also helps soothe inflammation, hydrates, and accelerate collagen and elastin production. Pore Size - Tone with Porcelain's Glycolic Toner to brighten and refine skin

This technology combines RF with FSR to achieve amazing clinical results.

The cold weather has arrived and women of a certain age are cheering. Turtlenecks, according to Harper’s Bazaar Australia, are ”in” this season and, as for every winter, they are a godsend because they cover up the turtle necks of 40-plus ladies. The tedious truth is that the necks and decolletage become pretty rough. For years they’ve been sun-exposed and overlooked and then one day we wake up and they’ve aged before our faces have. Before our very eyes. Young women take heed and read on. The neck becomes a giveaway that neither Botox nor surgery can remedy.

Women are mostly concerned with the face so their skin care regime stops there. Neck, decolletage and the hands often betray a person’s true age but is covering them up the answer? Necks seem to shorten with age as the chin line becomes heavier. A woman basically loses her long and, if so blessed, swanlike neck, becoming a squat head on shoulders, like a child’s drawing. Polonecks and high oriental collars can make it seem as if there’s no neck at all. The most flattering necklines to women no longer in the blush of youth are those that stay away from the neck. What the neck needs is some proper attention and skincare.

‘Prevention is better than cure, so it is wise to start at the same time as the general skincare regime. Once the signs of premature ageing of the neck and decolletage have set in, they are extremely hard to treat. Signs of premature ageing on the neck are loose skin (turkey neck), lines and sagging skin. Unless the decolletage is protected it will show the common signs of sun damage – the V-shape of skin discolouration, redness and freckles.

3Deep™ Radio Frequency

Radio Frequency (RF) energy treatment is a new and promising technology for non-surgical tightening of the early signs of loose or sagging skin. It heats up the subcutaneous fat beneath the face skin so that it ruses up to the skin surface. The heat generated in the subcutaneous fat is transferred back to the surface collagen layer in the skin, which then immediately contracts for an immediate skin lift.

1. Anti-Aging is….

Achieving a balance within your skin between moisture and sebum level. It means maintaining a high level of collagen and elastin production, and low level of oxidation within the skin hence, reducing signs of aging.

2. How do I stop the clock?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to do so as chronological aging is part of life. We can prevent the signs of aging from showing by increasing our level of anti-oxidants to prevent free radical damages, stimulating collagen, elastin production and skin’s natural regenerating ability with technology such as Radio Frequency, Intense Pulsed Light, LED and reduce our sun exposure by applying sunscreen.

3. At what age should I start my anti-aging regime?

You should start your general skincare regime during puberty. Anti-aging should not be separated from your routine skincare regime. Revise your home care and professional treatments with your aesthetician or doctor every year to evaluate your changing needs. The skin begins to age around 25 to 30, however, many young skin display signs of premature aging due to improper care and lack of sun protection.

4. How do I prevent premature aging?

The number one cause of premature aging of the skin is caused by sun overexposure. It causes skin dehydration and discoloration of the skin’s pigment, which results in the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, freckles and other forms of pigments. We recommend that sunscreen to be applied daily prior to sun exposure, even when you are spending most of your time indoors. Next, frequent exfoliation of your skin can reduce dead skin cell buildup and stimulate cell regeneration.

That will help prevent and reduce existing signs of aging. Keeping your cells moist keep skin looking plump and firm. Use products such as Hyaluronic Acid to enable that and eat foods that are high in water content to keep your skin well hydrated at the cellular level.

3DEEP™ RF Technology

It is a multi-source, phase controlled radio frequency energy that is safe and effective to use. It is the latest generation of all RF-based professional skin treatment devices.

Using an array of multiple RF sources and a sophisticated software, it is able to effectively control the phase of the energy flowing between the hand-piece and electrodes.

3DEEP also controls the delivery of power and depth of RF energy to the skin, making it different from other devices in the market today.

Monopolar RF

RF energy flows uncontrolled through the body. It requires intensive skin cooling during the procedure.

Bipolar RF

RF flows superficially and is less efficient. It requires cooling to protect the skin.

Deep, controlled and targeted energy flow. No cooling is required.

Hence, the treatment is safe and eliminates concerns about any potential side effects or downtime. It is effective for skin tightening and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

3DEEP™ RF Fractional Skin Resurfacing

3DEEP Fractional Skin Resurfacing is specifically designed for the treatment of skin roughness, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles and scars.

The FSR handpiece contains a matrix of 112 tiny electrodes, allowing simultaneous fractional micro-ablation of the epidermis, together with volumetric heating of 100% of the dermis, which reaches the collagen fibers causing an immediate and long term tightening effect.

This technology also provides the capability to differentiate between micro-ablation and dermal heating, making it an optimal multi-layer treatment to improve aging skin and atrophic acne scars. It treats all layers of the skin, helping you achieve a smoother, brighter skin surface.
