Korean Skincare Secrets: 5 Celebrity Tips

I’ve always wanted to know Korean skincare tricks; have you seen KPOP stars’ skin? Fair. Flawless. Gorgeous. Just look at Sandara Park from 2NE1, Suzy from Miss A, Song Ji Hyo and Song Hye Kyo (just to name a few). They have such amazingly radiant, fair, soft and smooth skin. It is to die for.

Now, many Koreans are naturally fair skinned, but it cannot honestly be said that they are born with good skin. It comes with a good amount of time and effort before they achieve that glowing skin every girl (or guy) would wish for.

I’m a strong believer of ‘There are no ugly women, only lazy ones’. I’m sure most of you know one girl who looked less-than-attractive as a child or teenager, but ‘transformed’ over the years. Now, I daresay she must have invested a lot more time and effort in grooming herself – she probably grew her range of skin care products, added more clothes to her wardrobe and paid more attention to her skin, hair and nails.

If she can do it, so can you! Just put in that extra effort, and you could look as great as a KPOP star 🙂

Here are 5 skincare secrets of Korean celebrities. You’d be surprised by how simple yet effective they are. Just look at the above-mentioned KPOP stars for proof.

KOREAN SKINCARE TIP #1: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Drinking lots of water will help to maintain your skin’s healthy glow and moisture. Koreans also believe in eating their water by adding more fruits and vegetables into their diet. As obvious as this may sound, many of us are still guilty of drinking less than 8 glasses of water a day, and not eating enough fruits and vegetables. This could well be the reason why your skin is lacklustre! Gradually change your diet. I assure you, a difference will be seen and felt 🙂

KOREAN SKINCARE TIP #2: Get Sufficient Sleep

Let me quote Sandara here to make my point more convincing: ‘My beauty secret to achieving that rosy and fair complexion is to get a good night’s sleep.’ Again, this is something that everyone knows, but how many of us are actually getting sufficient sleep every day? Try sleeping early and getting at least 8 hours of sleep for a week. Not only will you look less like a panda, your skin will also be clearer and brighter!

KOREAN SKINCARE TIP #3: Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize

Koreans are very diligent when it comes to their skincare regimen, and this includes cleansing, toning and moisturizing, twice a day, everyday without fail. When it comes to cleansing, Suzy believes in rinsing with lukewarm water but splashing her face with cold water at the end to close the opened pores. Rinsing with warm water helps to open pores and thus cleanses more thoroughly, while cold water shrinks the pores and keep your skin fine and smooth. A simple trick, but works wonders!

KOREAN SKINCARE TIP #4: Use Sheet Masks

Koreans are huge fans of sheet masks. It acts as a quick fix to instantly moisturize, brighten and rejuvenate skin. Apart from getting her beauty sleep, Sandara will apply a sheet mask before sleeping when she feels that her skin is getting tired and dry.

KOREAN SKINCARE TIP #5: Apply Light Makeup

I’m sure many of you would have noticed that Koreans always have this effortless – also known as nude – makeup look. To achieve that look, apply thin eyeliner, a thin layer of mascara and use an eyebrow pencil to create neat and tidy brows. Most importantly, keep your skin clear and supple with the above tips, so you won’t have to pile on thick layers of foundation and concealer.

Goodluck!
