Step 1: Pre-cleansing your skin

Most of us spend our weekends going out with our friends and having fun. Others spend time partying with their loved ones at gatherings and functions. With all this partying going on, we tend to pile on some make up just to make ourselves look presentable.

But did you know that by wearing makeup, you are not allowing your skin to breathe? Most make up that we use are not oil-free. All these oils in the makeup will slowly seep into our pores and begin to clog it up. Also, because we are putting on layers of cosmetics on our skin, our pores are only able to absorb the oils instead of natural oxygen which eventually causes the skin cells on our face to lack oxygen.

But fear not my ladies, there is always a way for you to keep looking pretty every weekend and ensure your skin looks amazing all the time.

Porcelain has a product that is perfect to combat pore congestion. With Porcelain’s Revive, Makeup Cleanser, your make up will come off very easily and it hydrates your skin from deep within. With orchid extract in the cleanser, it will definitely leave your skin moisturized. Also, with the added chamomile extract, it has anti-inflammatory properties which will reduce any redness on your skin after a whole night of make up on.

Step 2: Exfoliate your skin

To soothe your face even further, Porcelain’s Revive, Natural Skin Refiner will do the trick. It helps to remove dead skin cells and reduce congestion. Also, it has aloe extract that helps to make your skin feel smooth and reduces any irritation on the skin. It also helps to hydrate your skin as well after a whole night of your skin not being able to breathe.

Step 3: Moisturize and balance out your skin

But after all this, you most definitely need to remember to balance your skin out.

Porcelain’s Balance Sebum Control Essence helps to balance the skin’s pH level as well as to increase moisture on your skin. Adding on to that, after a whole night of wearing makeup, the essence also helps to reduce congestion.

Always remember to cleanse your face of any makeup to avoid any clogged pores or congestion. Keep your skin moisturized and hydrated after a long day of not allowing your skin to breathe any pure oxygen.  If you do all this, your skin will look amazing.

Living in a fast pace city, we may not always be able to dedicate sufficient time for treatments. Despite that, we still want to keep our skin looking smooth. So here are some tips on how you can get your own skincare products right in your home!

1. DRINK YOUR DAY AWAY

While most people think drinking water is just going to be making them visit the washroom every few minutes, in truth, it helps your skin a lot. By drinking at least 12 glasses of water every day, it helps to detoxify your skin. It helps to wash out all the toxins in your body.

2. WASH AWAY THAT MAKEUP

Always remember to wash away the makeup on your face before you go to sleep. Sleeping with your makeup on would be one of the ways to get your pores clogged up. Adding on to that, sleeping with your makeup on will cause your skin to look dull and lifeless.

There is a simple way to make your own makeup remover at home. This would be all that you need!

–          ½ cup of Extra virgin olive oil

–          One bottle of aloe vera or filtered water

–          A couple of cotton pads

Instructions

Pour the oil into the bottle of water and shake. Because oil doesn’t mix with water, you need to immediately use after you shake. That’s it! You’ve got your own makeup remover at home.

3. PICK THE RIGHT CLEANSER AND EXFOLIATE

Remember to pick the right cleanser that is suitable to your skin type. Do not use normal soap as it might cause your skin to be dry. Also, do remember to exfoliate at least twice a week. However, if you do have oily skin, you might have to exfoliate more than twice.

You can make the cleanser and exfoliate at home! Here is what you need for the cleanser!

–          1/8 ground roasted almonds

–          2 tablespoons of milk

–          1 teaspoon of lemon juice

Just combine all the ingredients together until you get a paste. Then just gently cleanse your skin with it. There you go, your very own cleanser!

But wait, you can also make your own face scrub! All you need is coffee! Yes, you read it right, COFFEE! Coffee is a natural exfoliant and it makes your skin softer. All you need to do is ground some coffee or use the leftover from your morning’s coffee, add a tablespoon of water and mix well. Then just rub gently on your face and pat your skin dry. Your face will feel soft and smooth after!

4. GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP

When you don’t get enough sleep or rest, it’l start to show on your skin, especially on your face. When you don’t get enough rest, blood vessels begin to dilate and that’s when you start getting dark eye circles! Also, your skin will start to sag and become really dull. So the trick is to always get enough sleep and now we all know why they call it beauty sleep.

So there you go, you have your very own skincare products in the vicinity of your home. You can do all this after a long day st work. Give it a try!

Porcelain’s Newly Launched Balance, Hydraclear Gel is a watery gel that helps to control sebum, supply water, increase water retention and sebum balance in skin. It helps to reduce inflammation and microbial activities which prevents acne formation without causing peeling, sensitivity or redness.

In order to explain how exactly this special formula works, here’s the science behind it.

Causes of Acne

1. Hyperkeratosis*: The thickening of the stratum corneum or outer layer of the skin

2. Bacterial Proliferation: The rapid growth or production of bacteria

3. Sebum Hyper-secretion: Over production of sebum, which can be a result of wrong usage of products, hormonal imbalance, poor diet, stress or unhealthy lifestyle

4. Local Inflammation: A localized protective reaction of tissue to irritation or infection, characterized by pain, redness and swelling.

Consequently, the way to reduce acne is to reduce hypekerotosis, bacterial growth, sebum secretion and inflammation.

Balance – Hydraclear Gel

Based on an In Vivo Test, ran on a period of 42 days, Balance, Hydraclear Gel is able to help with the reduction of active sebum glands by 31% and amount of sebum by 44%, and based on an In Vitro Test, Sebum secretion was reduced by 44%, Hyperkeratosis was reduced by 54%, Inflammatory Activity was reduced by 72% and Bacterial Growth was reduced by 100%.

Benefits

1. Targets all 4 areas of acne reduction

2. It is mild and does not cause drying or peeling

3. Helps to brighten and refine your skin

5. It is cooling & soothing and has a watery gel texture

Last but not least, it helps you achieve the clear, hydrated and healthy skin you wish for! 🙂

The Balance – Hydraclear Gel is suitable for all skin types.

Your skin is the largest organ in your body and skin cells are renewed every 15 to 30 days. If your diet is even marginally deficient in any of the key nutrients, your body doesn’t have all the right building blocks to make healthy skin cells. This is very quickly reflected in the condition of your skin.

The right vitamins and minerals – such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, Zinc and Iron – all protect the skin, improve elasticity and help to heal. They can be found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, pulses, grains and meat. But that’s not the whole story: your skin also needs protein, found in lean meat, chicken and fish, and omega-3 fatty acids, found in oil-rich fish.

If these don’t sound like the type of foods you normally eat, don’t go for a complete overhaul all at once – it’s more difficult to stick to. Try introducing a couple of new things a week and experiment with new recipes. To give yourself the best chance at making long-term changes, go with what appeals in the supermarket rather than forcing yourself to eat something you don’t like the look of.

Top Tips For Healthy Skin

  1. Say no to crash diets: they tend to be deficient in key nutrients, and when body weight yo-yos, skin loses elasticity and can start to sag.
  2. Fruit and vegetables are your skin’s best friends. Plant-based foods are the best source of antioxidants that can help neutralize the effect of free radicals. Free radicals are formed when molecules break up, and have been linked with ageing and wrinkles.
  3. Don’t be afraid of fat. Foods like oil-rich fish, avocados, nuts and seeds contain essential fatty acids which the body can’t make; these can help improve skin’s elasticity.
  4. Keep skin hydrated. Moisturize from within by drinking plenty of fluids, especially water
  5. Snack sensibly.  Snacks like nuts, seeds and dried fruits will release glucose more slowly and steadily, which can help balance blood sugar levels as well as provide you with skin-friendly nutrients.
